How to Crop Images Online

Whether you need a perfectly square profile picture, a 16:9 YouTube thumbnail, or a custom-sized header, our client-side image cropper lets you trim your photos quickly and precisely.

  1. Upload or Paste: Drag and drop your image into the workspace, click to browse your files, or simply paste an image directly from your clipboard.
  2. Choose an Aspect Ratio: Use the right panel to lock your crop box to a specific ratio (like 1:1 or 16:9), or leave it on "Free" to drag the borders anywhere you like. You can also define a custom ratio (e.g., 21:9).
  3. Adjust the Frame: Click and drag the handles on the crop box to select your desired area. Need exact pixel dimensions? Type them directly into the "Final Selection (px)" fields.
  4. Reset or Replace: If you make a mistake, use the "Reset View" button in the toolbar to center the image, or "Replace Image" to start over with a new file.
  5. Download: Click "Instant Download" to save the newly cropped image to your device at full resolution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my image uploaded to your servers?
No. This tool runs entirely in your web browser. Your images are never uploaded, ensuring complete privacy and zero waiting time.
Can I crop an image to an exact pixel size?
Yes! Once your image is loaded, look at the "Final Selection (px)" panel on the right. You can manually type your desired width and height in pixels, and the crop box will instantly update to match those exact dimensions.
Will cropping my image reduce its quality?
Cropping inherently removes pixels from the outside edges of your image, which reduces the overall file dimensions. However, the area you keep is exported at its original, full resolution without any additional lossy compression applied.
